Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 28, 2018) – The Shooting incident transpired at Purok Aquino, Balangasan District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 2:40 AM of November 27, 2018.

Investigation Conducted by Pagadian City Police Station disclosed the victim identified as Arnel Albarico Yap, 38 years old, male, married, a Polaris laborer, and a resident of Purok Palmera, Balangasan District, Pagadian City.

Further investigation disclosed that, prior to the incident, the victim was driving his black single XRM motorcycle with plate number 1339 to look for a passenger, at the vicinity of Purok Aquino, Balangasan District Pagadian City and allegedly there were two unidentified male person riding on an undetermined kind of single motorcycle abruptly stopped block the victim on the road and without any apparent reason shot him several times.

Thus the victim speeds up to elude the suspect, however the victim rolled down and left his single motorcycle and ran on foot, hiding himself at the houses near the area.

The victim sustained lone gunshot wound on his buttocks, and was being brought by the responding Police Officers to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center, Dao Pagadian City.

The suspect fled unseen riding single motorcycle. The motive of the incident is yet to be determined.

Wanted Person Cuffed

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 23, 2018) - Joint PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 9 and 902nd RMFB 9 conducted police operation on Wanted Person at Purok Kahayag, Barangay Dumagoc, Pagadian City at about 12:22 PM of November 22, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest Jovan Colot Y Pacalioga, 20 years old (June 9, 1998), male, married, Filipino and a resident of Purok Kahayag, Barangay Dumagoc, Pagadian City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Robbery With Violence Against And Intimidation Of Person with criminal case number 19850 issued on March 15, 2017 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 48, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Bail bond recommended of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php100, 000.00).

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition

Follow-up reports on Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY, Nov. 20, 2018) – One person wopundd in Shooting incident transpired in front of Kismet Cable TV Office, Corner Aquino St., and Cabrera St., Gatas, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:30 PM of November 19, 2018.

The victim identified as Arnel Maliao y Sotomayor, 39 years old, Filipino, cable technician, and a resident of Alta Tierra, Tiguma, Pagadian City was shot by two unidentified male persons riding in tandem onboard XRM Red and White.

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was going out from his working place at Kismet Cable TV when he was approached by the gunman-back rider of a waiting motorcycle of more or less three meters distance along Cor. Aquino and Cabrera St. The victim sustained four gunshot wounds of his stomach and arms.

The suspects are two unidentified male persons where the gunman was wearing hooded brown jacket, black sandal, and maong pants onboard XRM color white and red motorcycle driven by male person wearing blue helmet (close type) and maong pants. The 2 suspects fled towards Cabrera St., traversing Balangasan, Pagadian City.

Recovered from the crime scene were three pieces fired cartridge case of alleged cal. 45, one fired bullet, and one deformed fired bullet.

The victim was immediately brought to Hofileña Hospital, FS Pajares Ave., Gatas Dist., Pagadian City by his co-employees. The victim was in critical condition and is subject for an urgent surgical operation.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station is now conducting a follow up investigation on the possible identification and filling of the appropriate case against the suspect/s.

1 person wounded in Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY, Nov. 20, 2018) – One person was wounded in Shooting incident transpired at Purok Bethlehem, Barangay Banale, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:45 PM of November 19, 2018.

The victim was identified as Mario Piga y Fernando, male, Filipino, 55 years old, Retired Philippine Army/AFP Reservist Enlisted Personnel, currently an ROTC Instructor of JH Cerilles State College, Pagadian City and a resident of Purok Bethlehem, Barangay Banale, Pagadian City.

Accordingly, said victim was allegedly washing his plates outside his residence when two male persons onboard lady type Black Smash motorcycle without plate number attached appeared in front of their gate with more or less ten meters away and shot the victim several times and thereafter fled towards the direction of Barangay Banale-Santo Niño, Pagadian City.

Recovered from the crime scene were twelve pieces fired cartridge cases of alleged cal. 45, one deformed fired bullet, and one deformed metal jacket.

The victim was immediately brought to Hofileña Hospital, FS Pajares Ave., Gatas District, Pagadian City by his son Michael Piga.

Further, investigation disclosed that the victim has just received his retirement benefits and lately was at odds with his wife where their relationship became estrange out of wife’s demand of controlling the victim’s money.

Pagadian City Police Station is now conducting follow-up investigation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect.

Arsonist Arrested by PNP Personnel

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 17, 2018) – The Joint PNP personnel of Pagadian CPS, San Pablo MPS and RFMB 9 conducted police operation on Wanted Person at Gov. VM. Cerilles Street, Purok Golden Shower, Barangay Santa Maria, Pagadian City at about 2:30 PM of November 16, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Roland Malaubang Itomay, 36 years old (October 20, 1992), male, single, Filipino, presently residing at Purok Sweetlove, Barangay Dumagoc, Pagadian City with postal address at Purok 1, Barangay Kalilangan, San Pablo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for crime of Arson with criminal case number 13587-2K17 issued on July 17, 2018 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 21, Pagadian City with bail recommended of Forty Thousand Pesos (PhpP40, 000.00).

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of San Pablo MPS for proper disposition

Most Wanted Person Captured in Dimataling, Zamboanga Del Sur

PAGADIAN CITY, Zambonga del Sur (Nov. 13, 2018) – The Combined elements of 902nd Company of RMFB9, Regional Intelligence Division 9 and Dimataling Municipal Police Station have arrested a wanted person during law enforcement operation Purok 3, San Roque, Dimataling Municipality, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:45 AM of November 12, 2018.

PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, Regional Director of PRO9 identified the suspect as Arnold Berondo, 39 years old, married, farmer and a resident of afore-mentioned place.

The suspect was arrested for the crime of Frustrated Homicide docketed under Criminal Case #11241-2k13 of RTC 9 branch 19 Pagadian City issued by presiding judge Hon Romeo T Descallar dated July 25,2014.

Arrested person is now under the custody of Dimataling MPS for booking and will be turned-over to Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition.

Dead Body Found

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 12, 2018) - A Dead body was found at Purok Kahayag, Barangay Dumagoc, Pagadian City at about 8:20 AM of November 11, 2018.      

Initial investigation conducted by Pagadian CPS the cadaver was identified as Arjon Calma, 16 years old, male, and a resident of Purok Kahayag, Dumagoc, Pagadian City who has abrasions on his knees and laceration on his foot who was allegedly electrocution at and found at the sewage canal.  

The cadaver lies at Gamalinda Funeral Homes, Rizal Avenue, Brgy Tuburan, Pagadian City.

Series of Robbery/Hold up Incidents in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 8, 2018) - Robbery incident transpired at Consolacion Street corner Rizal Avenue, Balangasan District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 9:00 PM of November 7, 2018.

The victims were identified as Rachelle Gonzales Y Longaquit, 18 years old, female, single, student, Filipino and a resident of Purok Manga, Tuburan, Pagadian City and Jomar Sarino Y Banglos, 18 years old, female, single, Filipino and a resident of Purok Aguinaldo, Santo Niño, Pagadian City.

Accordingly, they were traversing Consolacion Street, Pagadian City on board there Suzuki Raider single motorcycle one when unidentified male person wearing black jacket, white inner t-shirt with print, short pants, black helmet (half face) and riding a black XRM single motorcycle with plate number painted in black color attached near its muffler approached them and drew his firearm describe as caliber .45 color black and forcibly took the cellular phone from Rachelle Gonzales Y Longaquit describe as one unit Samsung J7 with SIM card attached number 0907-1676111 estimated worth eight thousand (Php8,000.00) Pesos and fled towards the alley road of DBP and DPWH situated at Rizal Avenue, Balangasan District, Pagadian City.

Robbery incident transpired at Urro Street corner Consolacion Street Sto. Niño District, Pagadian City at about 8:45 PM of November 7, 2018.

The victim was identified as Elmer Gravador Y Asoy, 25 years old, male, single, student, Filipino and a resident of Purok Bonifacio, Santo Niño District, Zamboanga City.

Accordingly, he was walking along Urro street corner Enerio Street near Provincial Capitol fronting Baptist church Santo Niño District, Pagadian City when one unidentified male person wearing black jacket, white inner t-shirt with print, short pants, black helmet (half face) and riding a black XRM single motorcycle with plate number painted in black color attached near its muffler approached him, drew his firearm describe as caliber .45 color black pointed and ordered him to dropped on the ground and to hand over his cellular phone, he then handed over his cellular phone.

Robbery incident transpired at Jamisola Street near Glavys Enterprises, Santa Lucia District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 PM of November 7, 2018.

The victim was identified as Entisam Palada Y Hasim, 24 years old, male, single, tricycle driver, Filipino and a resident of Paglaum Uno, Tuburan, Pagadian City.

Accordingly, he was driving his passenger tricycle (Bao-bao) at the abovementioned place on board with two passengers when one unidentified male person wearing black jacket, white inner t-shirt with print, short pants, black helmet (half face) and riding a black XRM single motorcycle with plate number painted in black color attached near its muffler approached him and drew his firearm describe as caliber .45 color black and declared that he was a member of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and forcibly took his cellular phone describe as one unit Samsung J2 Prime and SIM card attached number 0906-8241369 and 0950-8004052 estimated worth six thousand (Php 6,000.00) Pesos and his WMSU ID card (serial # 15-2040).

The suspect thereafter fled towards Jamisola Street corner Duterte Street, Santa Lucia, Pagadian City.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station were immediately mobilized for the possible apprehension and identification of the suspect for the filing of case.

Dead Body Found

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 7. 2018) - A dead body was found at the residence of Mr. Rogelio T. Alcantara located at Purok Mangga, Tuburan, Pagadian City at about 9:00 AM of November 06, 2018.

Police identified the lifeless body as Benjamin Ontolan, legal age, male, Filipino, single and temporarily residing at the aforementioned place. 

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at the above time, date, and place of discovery, a group of children were playing basketball when two of the children went to the house to get the ball that fell, they discovered the lifeless body lying on the top of the table and immediately reported to the office of the Barangay Tuburan, Pagadian City.

The City Health Officer Dr, Arnel Lerias went to the above place for investigation and examination.

Based on the Post Mortem Examination, the nature of death is natural one. The cadaver of the victim now lies at Gamalinda Funeral Home.

RA 9262 Violator Held in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 7, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Pagadian CPS arrested one person during the conduct of police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 10:07pm of November 06, 2018 at Rizal Avenue corner R.T Lim Street, Balangasan District, Pagadian City.

The operating team identified the arrested person as Lucio Ungaya Malapad Jr Alias “Jun-Jun”, 23 years old, male, married, Filipino and presently residing at Purok Papaya, Barangay Lumbia, Pagadian City with postal address at Purok Maribabao, Barangay Poblacion,  Lakewood, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Violation Of Section 5 (I) Of Republic Act 9262 with criminal cases number 14044-2K18 issued on October 26, 2018 by Honorable Judge Analyn F. Ramas-Costanilla, Acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court of 9th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Pagadian City with a bail bond recommended of Eighty Thousand Pesos (Php80,000.00) for his temporary liberty.

The accused is now in the custody of Pagadian CPS for proper disposition. 

Gun-For-Hire Personality Killed in Counter-Strike Operation in Zamboanga Del Sur

 PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 7, 2018) – The Combined PNP personnel of Regional Intelligence Division 9, 902nd Maneuvering Company of RMFB9 and Zamboanga Del Sur PPO Provincial Intelligence Branch jointly conducted Counter-Strike Operation / Dragnet Operation at Datoc Street, Purok Bougainvilla, Barangay San Jose, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur on November 7, 2018 at about 8:30am, police official said.

Police Regional Office 9 PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez discosed that the operation was in response to an urgent intelligence information indicating that a crime is about to be perpetrated by a gun-for-hire personality identified as one EpipanioInso Y Lumisay, aka “Yong-Yong”, Filipino, of legal age, male, and a resident of Langilan, San Miguel, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Galvez said that in the said counter-strike operation, the above-mentioned suspect, in a regular stop-and-frisk measure, opted to engage the operating PNP personnel in a brief gunfight resulting to the untimely death of the former (suspect). No casualty on the part of the PNP operating personnel.

Galvez added that the scene was then process by the responding SOCO Team from Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory, based at Camp Abelon, Lumbia, Pagadian City.

Recovered from the scene are the following evidence, to wit:

One unit Caliber 45 Pistol;

Three pieces Magazine Assembly for caliber 45;

Twenty-four pieces Ammunition for  caliber 45;

One piece Magazine Assembly for caliber 9mm;

Ten pieces Ammunition for caliber 9mm;

Nineteen pieces of 12 Gauge Shot Gun Shell;

One  unit MK2 Fragmentation Hand Grenade ;

One piece Fired Cartridge Case for caliber 40; and

One piece Fired Cartridge Case for caliber 9mm;

Galvez said cadaver sustained two Gunshot wounds at the Chest, one GSW at the Right Shoulder, one Gunshot wound at the Chin, two Gunshot wounds at the left side of the neck and one Gunshot wounds at the back of the head. (By JONG CADION)

Drug Suspect Arrested in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 7, 2018) – The Operatives of Pagadian City Police Station conducted drug buy bust operation at Purok Bonifacio, Barangay Sto. Niño, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on November 6, 2018 at about 12:05am.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of suspect identified as Raymond Pascual Talavera, male, 20 years old.

The operating team recovered from the possession of the subject one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu”, with estimated market value is One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php1,500.00).

Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY (Nov. 6, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Paminta, Macasing, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:30pm of November 5, 2018.

The victim was identified as Florentino Fiel Payes (unharmed), 50 years old, male, married, a Barangay Tanod, and a resident of Purok Paminta, Macasing, Pagadian City.

Suspect identified as Armand Diana Biol (at large), 24 years old, male, married, a welder, and a resident of Purok Paminta, Macasing, Pagadian City.

Investigation disclosed that allegedly the suspect who seemed to be under the influence of liquor, shoot the victim once, using his 9mm caliber pistol based on the recovered deformed bullet (lead).

The incident allegedly erupted when the victim and the suspect had a heated argument at the house of the suspect.

After the incident the suspect allegedly ran towards unknown direction. He is now the subject of the manhunt operation carried out by Pagadian City Police.

Man dead in Suicide Incident

PAGADIAN CITY (Oct.27, 2018) – One person died in Suicide incident (by hanging) transpired at Purok Madanihon, Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:10pm of October 26, 2018.

The victim was identified as April John Saladaga Y Fuentes, 20 years old, male, with live-in partner, motorcycle mechanic, Filipino and a resident of abovementioned place.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the victim was seen by his live-in partner named Mary Anne Echavez Manuales hanging on the wood brace/Beam of the ceiling of his house around 6:10pm of the same date using a cable wire (color blue) more or less Twenty-two feet in length 

Thereafter upon discovery, he was immediately brought and rushed to Hofileña Hospital for his possible revival but was declared dead on arrival around 6:45pm of the same date by the attending physician Dr. Abner Magboo. The cadaver now lies at Hofileña Hospital’s Morgue.
