Alleged Illegal Discharged Of Firearm

PAGADIAN CITY - An alleged illegal discharged of firearm transpired at Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:30 AM of May 31, 2019.

The incident occurred at the residence of Glory Mae Fuertes y Maquiling, 27 years old, female, single, School Teacher, located at Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Accordingly, allegedly an unidentified person fired some shots in front of their house with the used of an alleged caliber .45 pistol hitting the fence, wall, roof and bedroom of victim house.

There were five (5) gunshot holes seen at her bedroom and recovered three (3) pieces fired empty casings from an alleged caliber .45 pistol.

There were no reported injuries sustained on the occupants and neighbors at the abovementioned place.

Suspect/s was unidentified and fled to unknown direction. Empty fired cartridge casings were to be subjected for a cross matching examination at SOCO Laboratory Office situated at Camp Abelon, Zamboanga Sibugay PPO.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation for possible identity of the fleeing suspects.

Dead Body Found in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Dead body was found in front of the main gate of “Palasyo”, Purok Staluvilla, Sta Lucia, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Norte at about 10:00 PM of May 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Froilan F Quidilla, PRO9 Acting Regional Director said the victim was a unidentified male person, clad in black t-shirt, white maong short pants, with rubber slippers of more or less 30-40 years of age. Suspect/s is unidentified.

Investigation disclosed that the incident area was poorly lit and not frequented with nightly goers.
The victim was evidently stoned to death where the face was beyond recognition.

The stone (10-15Kls) used as an instrument of the crime was left more or less 2ft from the victim’s head. Motive of the incident was believed personal grudge out of the suspect/s hatred on his determination of killing the victim by smashing the head out of stone.

The cadaver was brought to Gamalinda funeral home and Pagadian City Police Station coordinated with City Health Office, Pagadian City for the conduct of post mortem examination.      

Pagadian City Police Station is still conducting follow investigation for the possible identification of the victim and as well as the perpetrators.

Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Sweet honey, Barangay Sta. Maria, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:27 PM of May 25, 2019.

The victim was identified as Caloy Miano, 33 years old, male, construction worker, and a resident of Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City. He was found lying lifeless and sustained several gunshot wounds on his body.

Investigation disclosed that around 10:24 PM of same date, two (2) successive gun burst was heard by the above-mentioned reporting person, and later found out that said victim was found lying lifeless on the side of the road and sustained gunshot wounds on his body believed to be shot by unidentified suspect/s.

The victim was wearing blue T-shirt, black short pants, and blue baseball cap. Responding PNP personnel of Provincial Crime Laboratory Office/ SOCO conducted crime scene processing and recovered two (2) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45 pistol and two (2) live ammunitions of same caliber from the crime scene.

The cadaver now lies at Gamalinda Funeral Homes situated at National Highway Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspect/s.

Wanted Man Nabbed in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Combined operatives of Pagadian City Police Station in coordination with Prosperidad Municipal Police Station, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur conducted police operation through service of arrest warrant at Barangay Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur at about 10:00 AM of May 22, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Alberto Galdiano Y Tuzo, 26 years old, male, married, driver, and a resident of Barangay Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of Section 78 of PD 705 with criminal case number 14356-2K19, issued on April 23, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Pagadian City.

The bail recommended for his temporary liberty is fixed at Seventy Two Thousand Pesos only (Php 72,000.00). Arrested suspect is now being detained at the said police station.

RA 7610 Violator Held in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Police operatives of Pagadian City Police Station conducted police operation through service of arrest warrant at Purok Capitol Creek, Sto. Nino District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:00 Noon of May 22, 2019.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Edcel Lumayag Y Lumingkit, 28 years old, male, with live-in-partner, tricycle driver, and a resident of Purok Capitol Creek, Sto. Nino District, Pagadian City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of Section 10 (a) of R.A. 7610, docketed under Criminal Case No. 14383-2K19, issued on May 8, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Pagadian City.

The bail recommended for his temporary liberty is fixed at Eighty Thousand Pesos only (Php 80,000.00).

Motor Vehicle Traffic Accident

PAGADIAN CITY - Motor vehicle traffic accident transpired at Purok Saling-sing, Balintawak Road Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:10 PM of May 16, 2019.

Initial investigation report disclosed one Kawasaki Barako 175 with plate JK-8730 and cab no.1812 registered and driven by Rogelio Ebedentes Anggot, 64 years old and resident of Purok Matinabangon,Gubac, Pagadian City with three passenger on board identified as Luzviminda Amoc y Andes, female, 62, Christian Jake Brigola, 9 and John Rey Andog.

The vehicle while on the way travelling along Balintawak road fall into ravine.

Both driver and passenger immediately brought to Jameliarin Hospital, Balangasan, Pagadian City for medical treatment but the driver was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

7 Arrested for Violation of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor Ban”)

PAGADIAN CITY - At least seven (7) individuals were apprehended PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station for Violation of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor Ban”) at Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City and Purok Madasigon, Bulatok, Pagadian City at about 5:00 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the arrested the following suspects as:
Ramir Jabajab Pantilgan, 36 years old, married of Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City;
Dominador Gumansing Ocay, 39 years old, of Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City;
Gedion Macarate Elesterio, 53 years old; Randy Lasparilla Macula, 21 years old;
Joel Elio Paris, 36 years old;
Roy Stanley Elesterio Lasparilla, 38 years old, and
Marlon Tantan Dinopol, 39 years old, all residents of Purok Madasigon, Bulatok, Pagadian City.

The arrested suspects were caught in the act drinking liquor while the police elements of Pagadian City Police conducted roving patrol at the above-mentioned place.

They violated the Resolution No. 10461 of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor ban”) and were all placed under arrest after being apprised of their rights under Miranda Doctrine and were temporarily held in protective custody of Pagadian City Police Station.

Man Held in Pagadian City for Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban

PAGADIAN CITY - Police personnel of Zamboanga del Sur - Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Lt. Colonel Parson Asadil and Pagadian City Police Station led by Police Captain Renante B Benitez have arrested a 45-year old man Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban in a joint patrol operation at Barangay Lison Valley, Pagadian City transpired at about 11:30 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the suspect as Richard Arsonillo Jabello, 45 years old, male, Filipino, married, farmer, and a resident of Purok Caimito, Lison Valley, Pagadian City.

Initial investigation disclosed that while the PNP personnel were having a patrol within the area of Barangay Lison Valley upon report received of the presence of armed men sighted in the area.

That upon reaching at Purok Caimito, the suspect was seen having something bulging on his waist which resembles like a firearm and upon verification patrolling team confiscated one (1) Unit Caliber .45 Pistol with S.N. 164329 (Colt MK IV Series 80) with one (1) Magazine inserted loaded with Nine (9) live ammunitions of same caliber.

The suspect failed to present any pertinent and/or valid documents to support in possession of the said firearm.

Thus, the suspect violated R.A. 10591, and COMELEC Gun Ban who was placed on arrest after being apprised of his rights under Miranda Doctrine and was temporarily held in protective custody of Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition.

19 Held in Pagadian City for Violation of R.A.10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban


PAGADIAN CITY - On May 6, 2019 at about 3:00 PM, Violation of R.A.10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban transpired at Barangay Danlugan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur wherein nineteen (19) male persons were arrested at said place, ten (10) of whom with firearms and nine (9) with no firearms.

Confiscated firearms were five (5) units long firearm of caliber 5.56/ M16 rifle, seven (7) units caliber 45 pistol, two (2) units caliber 357 revolver, one (1) unit caliber 38 revolver, One (1) unit magnum 22, and one (1) unit caliber 9mm Taurus.

Initial investigation disclosed that the arrested male persons were on board on two (2) pick-up trucks are roaming at Brgy. Danlugan vicinity when intercepted and flagged down by patrolling troops of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army and when searched they were found out in possession of firearms when they are wearing civilian attire.

Responding team of Pagadian City Police Station personnel upon called by 53rd IB arrived at the incident area and conducted inventory of confiscated firearms and held arrested suspects in temporary custody for filing of an appropriate charge in court.

The firearms listed below were confiscated on the following-named persons by the patrolling troops of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army, to wit;
a.     Three (3) M16 rifle with SN’s RP128289 with scope, SN257326, and 223-5.6 with three (3) pcs. Magazine with thirty seven (37) live ammunitions and One (1) Taurus 9mm Pistol with SN TCW36020 with Three (3) short magazine and Three (3) long magazine.
b.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 883599 with three (3) magazine assembly, and twenty-two (22) live ammunitions.
c.      One (1) Caliber 357 revolver firearm (Magnum) and six (6) live ammunitions.
d.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 528147, one (1) magazine, and six (6) live ammunitions.
e.     One (1) Caliber .38 revolver firearm with S.N. 11976, and four (4) live ammunitions.
f.      One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 752841.

g.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 492753, one (1) magazine, and three (3) live ammunitions.
h.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 1874360, two (2) magazine assembly, and nineteen (19) live ammunitions.
i.      One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 67788, one (1) magazine, eight (8) live ammunitions, and three (3) live ammunitions of Caliber .45.
j.      One (1) Caliber 357 revolver firearm (Smith and Wesson) without serial number and six (6) live ammunitions.
k.     One (1) M16 rifle with SN120556, One (1) M16 rifle with SN RP 103882, One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 573336, eight (8) live ammunitions of Caliber .45, one (1) magazine, six (6) live ammunitions, one (1) M16 rifle with S.N. 120556, one (1) magazine, twenty-seven (27) live ammunitions, one (1) magazine, thirty (30) live ammunitions, and One M16 rifle with S.N. RP 103882.

2 Died, 1 Hurt in Pagadian City Shooting

PAGADIAN CITY – Two dead, one wounded in Shooting incident transpired at New Agora fronting Santa Lucia National High School, Sta. Lucia District, Pagadian City at about 7:45 PM on May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Noel Carbonillas Y Solmeron, 40 years old, male, married, Filipino, jobless, with postal address at New Agora, Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City.

He sustained four (4) gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body and was brought to HofileƱa Hospital by his friends. He is still under observation by the attending physician.

The other victim identified as Mario Binghay, of legal age, a residence at Banale, Pagadian City. He also sustained lone gunshot wound on his right chest and was rushed to Borbon Hospital and subsequently transferred to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Initial investigation disclosed that as revealed by some bystanders in the area that at about 7:45 PM of May 6, 2019, accordingly, victim identified as Mario Binghay arrived at New Agora, Sta Lucia District, Pagadian City on board on a single motorcycle, and few minutes after several gun burst of fire were heard by the by-standers and the two mentioned victims were brought to different to said hospital after seeing them lying with blood.

Further investigation disclosed that there was an exchange of fire being heard in the area considering that the area is not so well-lighted, also hit during the shooting incident were Jhon Kenneth Apolo Y Nepumuceno, 10 years old, student with residence at Purok Kahayag, Dumagoc, Pagadian City and one (1) Benjamin Amparado Y Eleccion, 65 years old, married, driver with residence at Upper Lumboy, Tuburan, Pagadian City.

The latter (Benjamin Amparado Y Eleccion) was driving his passenger tri-van with his passenger John Kenneth Apolo, and while passing at the place of incident was hit by a bullet, Jhon Kenneth N Apolo and Benjamin E Amparado were brought to Mendero hospital, but the former/ victim John Kenneth Apolo was declared dead few minutes after being treated at the same hospital.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene were seven (7) fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol, one (1) fired bullet of caliber .45 pistol, three (3) pieces live ammunition of a 12 gauge shotgun.

The single motorcycle driven by Mario Binghay was taken by his companion just before the responding PNP team arrived.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are still conducting investigation as to the circumstances of the incident to determine the real respondents of this case.

Shooting Incident


PAGADIAN CITY - Shooting Incident transpired at Purok Lumatao, Barangay Gubang, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 01:20 AM of May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Angel Barrientos Besoro, 29 years old, male, married, driver and a resident of Purok Lumatao, Barangay Gubang, Pagadian City.

The victim was attending a vigil on the wake of his neighbor (Lucena Quintana), when he was about to go home, one of the suspects approached the victim and without any words shot the victim four times hitting different parts of his body which resulted to his untimely death.

Recovered from the crime scene are five (5) fired cartridge casings and two (2) fired bullets all of caliber .45 pistol.

After the incident, suspects walk towards the Barangay Hall of Gubang direction.

Motive of the incident was initially viewed personal grudge where the victim was known drunkard of the area.

Robbery Hold-Up Incident

PAGADIAN CITY - On May 2, 2019 at about 10:30 PM, a robbery hold-up incident transpired at Dacal Subdivision, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victims identified as Sierra Claire Villarta Y Malones, 28 years old, single, female, customer support, and a resident of Purok Marang, Barangay Tuburan, Pagadian City and Erickson Lada Y Ampatu, 27 years old, male, single, virtual assistance, and a resident of Purok Alindahaw, Barangay Lumbia, Pagadian City.   

Investigation disclosed that victims were at Dacal Subdivision particularly at Barangay Road sitting on their motorcycle having conversation with one another, when two (2) unidentified suspects onboard single motorcycle suddenly stopped in front of them, pointed a gun and declared hold-up.

The suspects carted away the following:
one (1) unit cellular phone Huawie Nova 3i with estimated amount of Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Pesos (Php15, 990.00) owned by Erickson Lada;
One (1) sling bag owned by Sierra Claire Villarta containing wallet with cash money worth (Php5,000.00),
UMID ID, Voter’s ID, PNB- ATM Card, GCASH, two (2) BPI- ATM Cards, Photocopy of official Receipt (OR), Certificate of Registration (OR) and key of Mio Yamaha owned.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the suspects.

Barangay Tanod arrested for violation of RA 10591 in relation to COMELEC Gun Ban


PAGADIAN CITY - Barangay Tanod arrested for violation of RA 10591 in relation to COMELEC Gun Ban (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions) on May 4, 2019 at about 2:50 AM at the vicinity of Barangay Hall of Barangay Poloyagan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The suspect identified as Victoriano Bacus Tausa Jr, 27 years old, male, with live-in partner, Barangay Tanod of Poloyagan, and a resident of Purok Simple, Barangay Poloyagan, Pagadian City.    

The arrest was made when the Provincial Mobile Force Company- Zamboanga DL Sur PPO conducted a roving patrol at the vicinity of Barangay Poloyagan when the latter received a phone call from a concern citizen informing that there were group of people converging near the Barangay Hall of Poloyagan.     

Upon receipt of the report, PMFC-ZSPPO proceeded to the abovementioned place.

Upon arrival thereat, the latter identifies themselves as PNP member assigned at PMFC-ZSPPO but the group of Tanod hurriedly fled and run inside the Barangay Hall and the suspect (Victoriano Bacus Tausa Jr) was seen visibly tacking a firearm on his back, thus prompting PMSG Rasid Barahim Y Jimlani and PSSG Abdul D Gampal to chased the latter and PMSG Rasid Barahim Y Jimlani managed to grab him on his hand and grab the firearm from the possession of the suspect.

When the respondent was asked regarding the pertinent documents of the said firearm, the latter failed to show any pertinent documents.

Said firearm describe as one (1) unit .38 caliber with serial number 557042 loaded with six (6) live ammunitions and was brought to Pagadian City Police Station along with the confiscated firearm.

Subject person temporarily detained at Pagadian City Police Station detention cell, while appropriate charge for violation of RA 10591 in relation to COMELEC Gun ban is now being prepared for filing in court.

2 Hurt in Pagadian Shooting Incident, Suspect arrested


PAGADIAN CITY – Two hurt while one suspect arrested Shooting incident transpired at corner Duterte Street - Jamisola Street, Purok Adelfa, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City and Sta. Lucia, Barangay Hall, Dablo Street, Pagadian City at about 11:10 PM of April 30, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victims as Willa Compra Y Yamuta, 27 years old, female, single, self-employed, a resident of Purok Lawis, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City and Zacaria Hasim Y Panianggo, 44 years old, male, married, tricycle driver, a resident of Purok Makabibihag II, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City.

Suspects were more or less ten (10) male persons wearing mask onboard two (2) black and white Toyota pick-up trucks and one identified as Jonard Genolos Y Villegas, 36 years old, married, painter, and a resident of Purok Spring, Barangay Sta Lucia, Pagadian City.

Investigation disclosed that the Barangay Tanods of Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City led by Barangay Chairman Bonifacio O Boron Jr, conducted nightly patrol onboard their personal single motorcycle and upon reaching at the aforementioned place of incident, two (2) black and white Toyota pick-up trucks suddenly stopped from behind and there from armed male persons alighted and allegedly the person of Jonard Genolos Y Villegas prepositioned along Duterte Street, acted as guide to the armed men towards the Barangay Tanods.

Thereupon, without any words, armed men simultaneously open fired towards Barangay Chairman Boron and Barangay Tanods who scampered to different directions.

As a result, victim identified as Willam Compra Y Yamuta was hit by a stray bullet on her left lower thigh along Purok Lawis, Barangay Sta. Lucia. He was brought to Aisah Medical Center, while the other victim identified as Zacaria Hasim Y Panianggo was hit on his left lower thigh inside Sta. Lucia Barangay Hall and was brought to Pagadian Medical Center.

SOCO team conducted scene of the crime operation and recovered twenty (20) fired cartridge cases of unknown caliber.

Responding SWAT of Pagadian City Police Station arrested one of the suspects who aided the armed men that acted as spotter at the nearby restaurant of the incident area and was held in protective custody of Pagadian CPS for proper disposition.
